The Exposure Project is a collection of emerging photographers taking an active approach in exposing and promoting new talent through exhibition, publication and online exposure. Formed in the fall of 2005, the goal of the project is to provide support, inspiration and community-based collaboration to emerging talent. Since its inception, The Exposure Project has hosted numerous exhibitions, has had online showcases, and has self-published 3 photo books. The group strives to stay current with the multifaceted nature of contemporary photography, using online forums to connect with like minded artists, showcase important work and share ideas pertinent to the medium. The Exposure Project aims to use this new media in conjunction with traditional exhibition and publication to create a mutually supportive network of artists. This networking makes new artists more visible to galleries, collectors, and the general public. Through the use of these different outlets, The Exposure Project aims to nurture photographers working on long-term projects. Through the combined efforts of exhibition, publication and online media, The Exposure Project hope to steadily expand their vision and continue to accent meaningful contemporary photography. It is the belief of this collective that collaboration and artistic camaraderie are invaluable assets to artists striving to introduce their work and share their respective visions. As a result, The Exposure Project will continually expand these lines of communication and provide exposure to a diverse array of contemporary photographers. |
